What are the chances of hybridisation between these species where their localities overlap?
They are so similar I can't ignore the possibility, which I'm sure would make the taxonomy an absolute nightmare.

We definitely need more cornuta and rubida samples for Cederberg - also other areas in Cape Fold Mountains, time is the great enemy.
Rob - maybe initially I will devise a 3 day course here in Oudtshoorn using a mix of captive and wild animals.
This based on digital & film SLR. I don't know what gear the guys on this forum have but the photography is pretty good. will work out costing if enough interest is aroused.

Sorry for dragging up this very old topic but I have a quick query.
I was looking at some pictures from your book and thought one of the pictures looked familiar so I browsed the forum to check where I had seen them and a came across a discrepancy.
On the previous page of this topic you posted a picture of a hornless cornuta from Garies and the same specimen (with slight colour editing or distortion due to printing) is posted in your book as a hornless cornuta from the Cedarberg.
I'm sure it was just an innocent mistake, but I'd just like to clarify the locality for future reference. Thanx.

Cederberg is the correct location, my bad for wrong ID earlier. I do have a hornless one from Garies which is very similar, so hence the mix up, sorry.
