Boy was he thirsty!! (Gaboon)

Last night I tried to feed this guy, and he bit the rat and then left it. He started cruising around his cage, and happened upon the water bowl. He drank the little bit of water which was in the bowl and started looking for more. I filled the bowl, and boy did he enjoy the water!!

Its good when they drink by themselves.

I remember when we use to have Gaboons and Rhinos we needed to put them in tubs with water in every second day or so. So we can be sure they drink

Does it happen often that gaboons doesnt want to drink themselves? If you just leave the lazy ones, will they die?

They will most probably first dehydrate and then die.

I have never really had a problem with my gaboons not drinking. Even the previous ones I've had drank quite easily, but I used to drag them and the Rhino over to the waterbowl.

Nasicornis, no, unfortunately not. It might be the cold or due to shed.
