*sigh*... How many guys would kill for a chick like Thea...

Nice post ... always enjoy them.

Amazing pics Swazi. I am amazed at how long their fangs are.
I like candlelight dinners, romantic walks on the beach and poking dead things with a stick.

And remember also those fangs are very mobile

Always think of a boomslang as "rear-fanged viper'

Nice pics but be a bit more gentle with the snake. You get dirt in his mouth and he is not happy because your grip is on the head instead of behind the head. This can really cause mouth rot if you are not careful.

A snouted cobra of a metre long has shorter fangs than a boomslang of a metre long.

Those fangs demand respect.

The boomslang had just been rescued, and was being treated before being released.

I was holding the camera, Johnny was holding the head ;)

MV = usually it's "wish I had a mom like yours", I'll settle for "girlfriend" any day!

I'm positively glowing...

At least Ollie will never battle to give an interesting speach at school. Telling the other kid how his mother is chasing around mamba's.

TIA

Tell me Swazi, are you still receiving a lot of call outs now?

The call-outs are definitely slowing down. In Feb we rescued close to 80 snakes but March is not nearly as busy, don't think we will reach 40.

Good thing too, need to catch up on the beauty sleep.

The children are so used to us catching snakes now it doesn't even get mentioned, just part and parcel of every day life. Oliver comes with quite often, if its a non-venomous he catches it.
