ID if possible [N. n. woodi]

Postby greyghost1 » Wed Aug 18, 2010 3:49 am

Hi
I've just found this forum and have a snap of a snake I took in the Cederberg area on a hol a couple of years ago. There's not much to go on and the snake wasn't hanging around for a better presentation. thanks in anticipation.

Thanks for the rapid response.

Silvrav - I notice you have a Jungle python. I live in Cairns in Far North Queensland and thought you might like this pic taken of a guy I picked up crossing the road back into town a couple of months ago.

By the way that snake is Highly Venomous so MODs may want to move it into the correct section.

Moved

I would give anything to be able to find a Carpet Python in the wild.

How often do you come across them or was this the only one?

Hey Mitton
I've lived here 15 years and only seen Carpets occasionally. Over the years we've had many more Amethystines come into the yard from the bush at the back. I've hauled several 4-5 m jobs out of our chicken run (complete with chicken feet hanging out of gob) and an even bigger one ate the neighbour's cat about 8 yrs ago. I'm doing a trip up to Iron Range NP in the Cape in Sept. Hoping to see Greens there.
Cheers, Tim
