Just did some changes in my forest enclosure

Postby Richard Mastenbroek » Wed Aug 25, 2010 8:15 pm

All are life plants I uses Monstera that is growing outstanding, Pepperoni and some ferns in the cooler part of hte enclosure.
THe enclitische measures roughly 190 x 100 x 120 cm (L X W X H) All branches and Sphagnum are straigth out of the Dutch park. ANd all does really well never have problems with stuff directly out of nature.

Hi Richard, you may recognize my avatar from another forum.

Very nice enclosure you have! What a snake as well. Are these natural enclosures more common around Holland and the other European countries? It seems many venomous keepers have wonderfull natural display cages compared to the American racks and tubs.

Hello MGiddinngs,

I do regonize the avatar :-D

Thanks guys for nice comments :smt023

You see it more often that enclosures are really nice with life plants etc. But its more in the venomous community in Holland than in the non venomous.
THe Germans are the absolute best in making and creating nice enclosure, many venomouskeepers from Scandinavian countries as well and I know lots of people from Swiss and luxemburg that also keep there snakes in natural enclosures.

Myself use all kind of plants but some even try to find plants that are really out of the catching range of the snake.

in my opinion the snake and the enclosure is 1 thing I do not like to watch snake behaviour on yesterdaysnewspaper in a plastic box. I do know and realize the snake does not mind, but on the other hand I see some pretty amazing behaviour in my enclosure. And I will often mis movies or tv shows because the snakes are far more interesting :-D

For the guys that can read Dutch as it close to Afrikaans have look at http://www.dgl-gifslangen.nl/forum/index.php

and if you really want to see stunning enclosure in which mine are damm ugly check this link

Your setup and the snake is beautiful. Well done.

Thanks for the response, I must say I am impressed with the European enclosure styles. Certainly something to look at in the future.

I ensure you if you give your snakes some decoration you appreciate them and they you 100 times better. Its just great to see them slide and ressearch true their vivs :D
