In the first pic on my right hand side you can see the cement slab I standing on. Aswell as the 'wall'. Its a flight of stairs coming down onto the slab with the final step ending just below the slab. In the last step is two holes drilled for some reason. The gap between the soil and slab where he usualy lies is about 50mm. I could never figure out where he disapears to.Amazingly, Last year he was shareing his lair with another male measuring at 1.06m caught on 07 July 2009. Nearly gave me a heart attack. Was probeing and fidling around with my hook under the slab trying to keep them from entering the hole in the last step. They both disapeared into thin air, so I sat up to catch my breath and wipe down the sweat/grass/soil. Just as I moved down to look in under the slab he decided to bolt for it at the side I was kneeling down. I nearly got him pinned with my face!
The area is used by workers to cross from other plants to the controle room. The snakes were both seen at times basking on the slab and on the sides of it.
