Banded Rinkhals

Postby Qball » Wed Aug 31, 2011 12:08 pm

I went to fetch my female banded Rinkhals this past Friday and thought I'd share some pictures of her. Excuse the photo quality as she is in temporary housing and the container is scratched. I will also post pictures of her new setup once completed.

Special thanks to Sly for a beautiful animal! :D

Give her lots of hiding place so that she does not stress. They love a nice basking light for a few hours every day too. Nights should be fairly chilly. Hope she does well for you.

Totally agree with BV. Mine only settled down nicely once I provided her with a nice big hide and blocked out half the front glass with cardboard.

Since then she has become a happy puppy and only comes to the front of the cage when "begging" for food.

Definitely one of my easiest captives, eats frozen mice or frogs more often than I like to feed her:)
One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today.

Thanks guys. her new enclosure will certainly have lots of spots for her to hide away
@Uncutdiamonds: I'm hoping to, but she's only a few months old so it will still be a long time... :( I just have to find myself a banded phase male now...

Stunning contrast between the black and creamy yellow of the throat band. Great snake!
