BE PART OF CURRENT SNAKE VENOM RESEARCH IN SOUTH AFRICA

You are invited to participate in a doctoral research study where we are looking at the effects of puff adder venom on blood cells and coagulation, conducted at the University of Pretoria, in order to facilitate the development of more advanced diagnostic and treatment options for snakebite management.

Dear Reptile Community

We urgently need volunteers who are willing to participate in this study by only donating a blood sample. You will not be directly exposed to any snake, nor its venom that might cause harm. Only a blood sample is needed.

Your donated blood sample will revive snake venom research in South Africa and will play a crucial role in the development of more efficient methods to diagnose and treat snake bite cases.

Please follow the link above to register you interest. I will personally call you back to give you more information regarding the study.

This study is approved by the PhD- and Research Ethics Committee (169/2016) from the University of Pretoria.

Best regards,

Dr Morné Strydom
