Cottonmouth with bloated stomach

Postby Jackal » Tue May 18, 2010 11:54 pm

I found my Cottonmouth with a bloated stomach. He hasn't eaten anything in the last week, so it is not a food item. The snake was fine last week and I didn't notice any problems. Has anybody ever had this issue and know what it might be? Any help will be appreciated.

It looks like it could be the snake's spine. I would get it to a reptile vet.

That looks like an injury to me.

Any news?

We've had a snake that had a distended spine and she was diagnosed with Osteomyelitis and Discospondylitis. Have you taken the snake to the vet as yet? Has X-rays been taken?
