bad burns on tegu

hello need some advise
Had a few bad events happen yesterday, my theromstat seems to have bomb out thus allowing my heat emitter to get over hot and burst open splashing hot liquid onto my tegu.
He has some bad blister and scraped open blister on his back, washed him in warm water and placed him on news paper.
i need to know can i use bactra ban or some other type of disinfectant on him.
what is my best coarse of action
please help

My opinion would be to get him to a vet. Chances are he will require antibiotics to prevent further infection etc and wound will require treatment.

Bactroban or Polysporin should be fine. Next time drop him in ice cold water or pour ice water over the wounds as quickly as possible to bring down the temperatures of the burnt area.

If the burn is not into the tissue he should be fine. Keep his cage really clean and clean the wounds twice a day and put the ointment on the cleaned area.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
