Hey Jacques,

Great to see your BP is doing better. That cut still looks painful but definitely a huge improvement from what it was! Well done I'm sure your snake appreciates it and so do we :)

Hey Jacques,

Any update on your BP? Would really like to know how the little guy is doing?

Doing great, thanks. Feeding well and I have no concerns about recovery at all anymore.

I'll post here every couple of weeks with an update, but I'll wait another 2 months before removing the stitches.

That's great to hear Jacques, I'm really happy for you. It's great to see a positive result with something that started out looking really bad.

Huge congrats, and well done! Did you ever track down those antibiotics, or did you skip them in the end? Just curious for future reference.

I only managed to get some Baytril from a vet 80km away and she only sold me enough for one injection. A full vial is pretty expensive and very few vets in my area keep it.

There never was any sign of infection and that was my biggest concern in the beginning. The python's movement seems fine and there is no sign of swelling or inflammation at all.

Sounds like you didn't need it then -- good thing, if it is hard to get there!

Next week it will be 3 months since the ball python was cut, but I decided to remove the sutures today because I want the next shed (estimated 1-2 weeks away) to be without anything in the way.

Here is a picture I've taken and it looks pretty good. This is a very closeup photo and from a distance it's very hard to notice the scar.

I will take one last photo update after the next shed and then the scales should look better.

The best DIY job I've seen.

Congrats on the good outcome.
