BRB With White Sore on Head

Postby Vinzy » Fri Nov 06, 2015 12:18 pm

Hi Guys

My Brazilian Rainbow Boa got mites a while back and I managed to get rid of them now.. Whew what a mission! :smt017 .. Anyways She has this sore on her head at the same time she had the mites and i just put some F10 and hoped it would go away with her next shed... She did shed but instead of a sore she now has this white mark instead of the sore? So the 'sore' is essentially white now.

Does this mean it's healing and it's a good sign... or is it a bad sign and it's infected or something? :smt021

Please any answers and advice would be much appreciated

Thanks!

Mites are a pain. Well done for getting rid of them!

I'm not, however, seeing the white spot (or even her head lol)? General, though, white can mean new growth/healing…it takes a while for the scales to regrow. A pict of the exact spot would help clarify.

Good luck!

It's probably just a scar... But could be wrong

Looks fine to me. Looks like she's healing nicely.

Thanks for the replies guys! The picture is a bit big so on a cellphone I think it cuts half the picture. Here is another pic I cropped it a bit:

She seems to be doing well though, nothing abnormal so I think I'm just paranoid! But rather safe then sorry!

Thanks!

LOL software cut the photo off again. ;-) However, this time I can see part of the white area, and it looks like scab tissue to me. As your snake nears shed again, dab the area with polysporin gel to make sure it stays moist and does not pull off with the shed skin…it will also prompt healing. Good luck!

Yup, just scar tissue.
