Should I worry?

My Boa seems to breath quite heavy. Is this something to worry about. The pet shop said he was sick before we bought him.

I would get him to a vet asap as this sounds like a respiratory infection (RI) which will need to be treated immediately. As boas originate from the tropics they aren't guarded againts our weather and cold spells.

Make sure that the cage is warm enough (what temp is it currently being kept at?)

I keep him at just under 30 degrees during the day and in the evenings not lower than 27 degrees.
Will I have to just phone all the vets here to check who could help? Or do most vets care for snakes? :(

Unfortunately not all vets are experienced when it comes to snakes. Try finding one in your area that has had exerience working with snakes before making an appointment.

Hi Eve.

Sorry only saw your post now, been out of town.

I have sent you a pm. Will get you the details asap tomorrow morning.

E.L. is a bit behind but getting there slowly. There looks like there might
be a reptile expo sometime in the future. It probably wont be to big
but anything to promote the hobby.
