Importing Ratsnakes

Postby Primogen » Fri Jan 17, 2014 10:38 am

Does anybody import any ratsnakes or know of anyone who does?

I really would love to get a hold of a few species that we don't have here or are very sparsely spread around.
Mainly the King, Blue beauties and Japanese ratsnakes but here a lot of others I would like aswell like Trans-pecos, Diones,Trinkets and Bairds.
Also scaleless snakes would be awesome, but thats just wishful thinking for now.

So if anyone has any information, it will highly appreciated.

Also do ratsnakes require Cites permits?

Nope no CITES permits and many have been approved for import in the past. It is still very expensive but possibly some will be imported this year.

Well this might be a bit late but I did some digging in hopes of finding an importer that won't break the bank to get hold of a bronze back and found that some airlines have a system where they will take a package way it and then charge a fee per weight that is a lot cheaper than shippers and bring it on one of the airliners

Yeah that is not legal. Freighting animals is more expensive for a reason. They are not just dumped in a hold and left to get cold or shaken about.
