Messiest snake?

Postby adrianx » Sat Feb 20, 2010 6:47 pm

Out of personal experience what would you say is the messiest snake you ever owned or still own, in terms of messing up they're enclosure.?
Indigenous and exotic goes.

I would go for Snouted Cobra

My Red Tail Boas! From tipped over water bowls had to move to cat litter boxes with 1 screwed into the floor lol and then comes the cr@pping in the water bowl.... Not fun taking it out!

Question is, have you kept every single snake ever? If not then answering would be difficult. In my personal experience it must be my Red tail, but I have never kept a Rectic or blood python's or or or.

Just answer the question Cornelius :D

The messiest snakes I have kept as a species are Snouted Cobras, but they are surpassed by an individual Suphan Cobra. He used to use the whole viewing glass to wipe his ass with.

Well I just came home to a regurged rat from one of my redtails. Wow the smell hit me the moment I walked in to my snake room and the regurged rat was on a heating pad. I had to disinfect the whole cage and astro with JIK. Still spraying regularly to get the smell out. Fortunately I have extra cages to put them in for a short time.

Well Ill have to say snouted cobra aswell. Mine will turn up the substrate and just wreck every inch of his enclosure.
The redtails do use their water bowl as a loo but this is way easier to clean than the astro. You just chuck it out and fill up the water again. But with substrate it needs to be taken out and cleaned and dried and and and...
My redtails would probably take second place after the snouty.

I have heard that cottonmouths can be very messy.

I was wondering when someone would mention cottonmouths.

Ah, my cottonmouth is potty trained... craps in the water dish but leaves the whole substrate turned over..
But not a vuilgat like my snouted cobra,
I mean really how can a 1m cobra move and tip over a tree stump about twice its length and ten times its weight?, turned over water bowels, wet substrate all over the inside of the enclosure, cr@p all over the place and it goes on and on and on...

I think the snouted cobra deserves the reward of "vuilgat snake of the year..."
