I like that list, but I'd have to add one of the Parabuthus species and definitely Solifuge!

And maybe one of the Giant Land Snails (Achatinidae).

I would say tail-less whipscorpion, cicada, rhinoceros beetle, butterfly and scorpion, I would also like to add ants, baboon spider and solifugids, fleas and the velvet worm kind of a big 50 rather than a big 5 lol.

You've got the best list Nvlooi , just not mosquitos.
Rather have that big black solitary wasps.
If I'm gonna be an old, lonely man, I'm gonna need a thing, you know, a hook, like that guy on the subway who eats his own face. So I figure I'll be Crazy Man with a Snake, y'know. Crazy Snake Man. And I'll get more snakes, call them my babies, kids won't walk past my place, they will run. "Run away from Crazy Snake Man, " they'll shout!”

When I think big five I think in terms of thrill factor.
What about a large centipede although I must confess that those are one animal that seriously give me the creeps?
I'd definitely go with a dung beetle and a solifuge. Dung beetles are my favourite insects.
When and where I was a kid large solifuges had us running for the nearest item of furniture to stand on because they moved like greased lightning when they saw you! We knew they weren't venomous but they can bite and who wants to feel one running over your bare foot anyway? What about some of the large moths? Leto venus (silver spotted ghost moth)? Argema mimosae (the African Moon Moth)?

One last thought - an antlion! It's been years since I've seen one of those little buggers and they are just amazing!
