Except that breeding and selling them will keep you in field gear, fuel and bakkie repairs for a few years! I just visited a nearby petstore here in North Wales - some of the ball python varieties (some of which I can barely tell from the wild type...) sell for up to £4000+ - yes, that's pounds sterling, not rand or Turkish lira!!!

I guess the focus on breeding mutants takes the pressure off the wild populations, which is good, but they really aren't my thing.
