My new addition - atheris ceratophora

I recently acquired this atheris ceratophora male. One of my favourite atheris species. He is doing great, eaten 2 pinks so far without too much effort.

In my opinion these are hands down one of the nicest arboreal Vipers on the planet.

@gaboon69 - he gets fed 1 pink every 14 days or so, along with my other atheris and cerastes vipera. and every now and then they go 3 weeks between meals - just to make sure that the fat levels don't build up too much in the system.

@amphibian - this is my first ceratophora, but i keep other atheris species and have had a fair share of experience keeping finiky snakes like this. And of course done a ton of reading up on them.

So far so good, but the biggest challenge is keeping this guy cool at lower temps!! not really easy in this african heat

Unlike many other reptiles, the big trick with cerats is not to get them feeding. Most animals eat. Keeping it alive over the medium to long term is the art.

From what I understand they like it cooler like in the 70s or 20 to 24
