So I spoke with cape nature today, Western Cape, and they are allowed here. you just need a permit and Cape nature will come to inspect your cage. You also need a transport permit. Now, who can help me to locate a trusted breeder that will transport them to western cape?

They are legal to keep without a permit in KZN and some of the other provinces, but not in all provinces, so please check with your local authority before buying.

In fact they are not legal in KZN. The Parks Board just do not bother to enforce the law.

I believe they are Schedule 9 animals... no permit required. I downloaded the entire pdf from their website....
