he/she will be your treasure!! Ours is 4 years old and his vocabulary is just amazing, and what is truly fantastic is the way he can reconstruct sentences using words he has already learned, into something new which usually makes sense. He has even managed to figure out that he doesn't like being called "little"... we always call him "Napoleon the little grey man", he has learned to say it, but as "Napoleon the grey man" He knows the name of the cat, the dog, the other two parrots, the mongoose, and uses them all at the right time, the list goes on and on...enjoy!!!

They are awesome animals. Ours has a huge amount of words he uses. He can immitate the telephone ringing, answer it, have a whole conversation, or call the maid. He also sms's himself (immitates the beep of the cellphone). When he hears the front door he makes the creaking sound of the door, or he says "hello". When he hears the back / kombuis door, he says "more" (morning in Afrikaans). He chaces the pig out, offers him treats, asks for apple, grapes or water. When he carries on and on about water, we know he really needs water.

My dad's bird is about 2 or 3 months old. When he hears the kombuis door he says "hello hello". He also imitates my dad's dog perfectly. He also says "Karwoef" which is what my dad calls the dog. It's quite amazing that he has started talking so early. A really cool bird though... even though he doesnt like me :(

As Irock said... enjoy!!
