Hi guys,

Another friend of mine removed this little guy from there home a while back. He wasn't able to identify it and neither am I.

That is a rhombic night adder (Causus rhombeatus).
And God has Created every animal from water, of them are some creeping on their bellies, some walk on two legs, and some on four. God Creates what He wills, for sure God has Power over all things.

Common or Rhombic Night adder - Why is it damaged/dead?

I'm not sure that it's dead?? He told me they released it again. What makes it look dead, or injured even?

The lump is sitting rather high up for meal, unless it is still swallowing and the front third of the body looks unnaturally turned up. There is also something on the right side of the face.... It generally does not look well.
But it is a Night Adder.

I assumed that it had just eaten something but you're right, it is sitting a bit high up for that. If it had just eaten and then been caught I'm pretty sure it would have regurgitated as well. I cant make out the thing on the side of it's head... I'll have to ask the guy how they caught it. Shame man.

That snake is damaged, save the image and zoom in!
It was beaten.

Doen't look harmed to me, my first thought was that it was in the process of regurgitating. See the "indent" just behind the bulge... If it was swallowing, the muscles would be contracting on the other side of the bulge. ANYWAY... oh and the protrusion just behind the head looks more like a bit of sand than flesh to me..
