If you have any HERP. related WEB resources, please post them here. Here are two that I use quite often.

A diversity WEB from the University of Michigan

Natureservce Explorer, allows you to put in common or latin names, and get a CITES result, or Natureserve status of each species.

A 2003 report on the Animal Markets of China. See sections about Turtles, snakes, and other animals. NOTE the CITES status of some of the animals. This is really eye-opening

The nature serve site is only for United States and Canada as far as I can see.

I quite like using Wikipedia. The info may not always be 100% accurate though, but there are often links at the bottom of the page to point you in the right direction when looking for more info.
