Platannas as pets.

Postby Umbra » Sat Feb 11, 2017 9:37 pm

Hi guys.

I actually just joined so forgive me if I'm a little awkward.

I recently caught a platanna in my pool and put it in a tank I had empty since my bearded dragon died (130 liter tank I think) And it has been living there for the past week since I cannot release it. Honestly, i find it to be a pretty cool animal and would like to find some more to keep.

I'm in the meyerton area in gauteng. is there a place where I can find more live platannas? I just want 3 or 4 more, not many, but just enough so the one I got isn't alone and the tank doesnt look so empty...

Thanks guys!

Answered your other thread. Try and get them more or less the same size as they will eat each other. Keep the water fresh, and feed them 2-3 times a day a variety of fresh food (bug, worms, bits of lean meat), keep them at room temperature, they don't need any kind of heating.
