Was just wondering guys as I'm from the uk, are these animals at these shows all captive breed from private breeders or imported in by breeders and if so how much do GTP's sell for normaly in SA??
We have some massive shows in europe with all sorts of animals, normal ball pythons and corn snakes are worth less and unless morphs are super rare they don't sell for much either! X
You guys need to help me find snakes in the amazing cape town!

Usually captive breed, but sometimes people do bring there somethings that they imported, Also, The prices go pretty low at expo's and so I think (I stand to be corrected) that they are still pretty expensive, R5000 or so for a CB animal if I'm not mistaken :smt013 ? They're REALLY aggressive snakes in general though. I'd rather go for an Amazonian Tree Boa! (I'm a cheapie! )

Does anybody have the correct street address for the Expo this weekend in Randburg, and what time doors open?

Hi all
I went to the Randburg Expo this year too. I was very disappointed. There was so much more to see and buy last year. I'm a lizard person (don't have snakes) and was disappointed at their selection. Most people were selling males only, so if you were looking for a female of some kind, you were unlikely to get it there. Some exhibitors looked as if they were just selling off excess stock. I also went to see what feeder insects were available but all I could find were crickets and one guy selling roaches. Perhaps I went too early on Saturday but it didn't seem as if lots more exhibitors were coming.

There were quite a number of snakes and gecko's but nowhere as many as last year.

I'm hoping that the one at Emperors Palace is better - I missed it last year. It's the one place where people like me can go to have a really good look at what is around. I work all day so going to petshops over weekends is difficult for me. Also some of them are not up to scratch and the people serving the public often don't know what they are talking about, so a big expo where everyone is in one place is great for people like me.
