Baby Ball Feeding. (Bark swallowed)

Postby Atmos » Tue Jun 09, 2015 11:35 am

Hello guys and gals, recently got a baby yellow belly male and he has been eating so well, i noticed he ate a little piece of reptibark with his meal. Just want to know if I should be concerned. Here is a video me and a mate made of him eating and where he ate the piece of bark. Njoy :D

You should feed him outside his enclosure from now on. Feed him in a separate tub with no substrate or newspaper, a lot safer.

Ty Vinzy, Its my first snake and I have done extensive research on when to touch them after feeding. Will it be fine to just move him directly after consumption into his enclosure from the feeding tub?

Yes that is safer. I have seen bark actually get stuck to the intestines of a Macklots python which had to be euthanased by the vet. Rather just get rid of the bark.
