ID required.....Again!!

Postby Adznsteff » Sat May 11, 2013 3:12 pm

Hi there everyone!!

Well here we go again, this little guy has decided to take up extreme sports, and dropped from the roof of a shed i was working in, bounced off my head and landed on the floor a little stunned but ok. His mate I rescued from the garden boy a few days earlier who was after it with a spade shouting MAMBA!!!

We initially thought Spotted Bush snakes..but are still a little uncertain.

What i do know about them is as follows:
Very fast, and agile climbers.
Colour, when they inflate themselves they flash turquoise under scales, nice bright green down the body, yellow white belly and turquoise tails.
No Black stripes or spots
They are docile enough when handled, they strike at the glove when they dont get what they want.... but really quite chilled out.
They hate being called Mamba's....and dont like spades or being chased
No fear of heights, and are partial to extreme sports....

apart from that, I have attached a few photos. If more are required please dont hesitate in contacting me adam.moray.campbell@gmail.com. I will have some courage in a glass ready (for the snakes not me!!) and will see what i can do on request!!

besides that, thanks so much for a great site and help!!

Where was the snake found?
Easy to make an accurate ID just from that.

Never the less it's a Western Natal Green Snake.
