Can somebody explain me the different from male and female by rombic skaapsteeker. Have somebody pictures from tail female and tail from male. Thanks and greeting from Germany.

It is normally really difficult to sex Psammophiinae, also with probing. Sometimes the tale can be elongated in females
Really interesting genus.

These snakes have very long tails and the differences are not that easy to see. I could not even find differences in the number of sub-caudals in this species. Probing will be the best thing to make sure.

I have 6 Skaapsteeker and all the tails have not big different. I will make some picture an may be somebody can tell me the sex. Regards Oliver

here some more pictures. For me all tails look same. Lamprophis or Natrix I can see different. But not really by skaapsteker. May be I have only one sex. :smt010

Hello.

Now after any month I asked for sex ID from Skaapsteker, I can say I cant see this on tail.
I thought the same like Nexus that Nr.6 is 99% male. But not this snake is gravid and I think in next days get eggs. It is crazy with Sex ID with skaapsteker. Regards
