Sad, but the only thing worse is the number of snakes that get run over... daily! We've done trips where we found 24 dead snakes of various species in an evening, and not a single live one.
Chamss, tiger snakes are not rare at all, and they can be quite common in some area. We've found up to 4 in 2 hours of driving on a 15km stretch of road. I so think that their temperature/water dependancy is quite different to other snakes, because all the evenings when I have found tiger snakes I have found very little else.
We must remember that a photograph can hold just as much as we put into it, and no one has ever approached the full possibilities of the medium - Ansel Adams
