Call out at work for work

Postby SABOAMAN » Thu Feb 17, 2011 10:18 am

Got a panicked call from the plant manager about a snake in their office. I ran down from my office to the other plant. They had a baby Red Lipped Herald inside a 25 liter bucket. I took the snake and bucket to my office.

Now my co-worker doesn’t want to work until I remove the snake from my office :D And the story spread like wild fire through my plant. :-D

I had to take the snake to the Lab and lock it in the air-conditioned room. I will pick it up on my way out and release it in the wetland area behind my house.

Usually those sorts of co-workers dont do that much work anyway. I would have kept the snake and had a restful day.

To keep the peace in the office it was better to move the snake :D

This is the third snake I'm aware off on site. The others was spotted by workers but none was caught. I work in a heavy industrial area but there is some open veld on site so some reptiles will be around.

I try to educate the co-workers but 90% of them still feel a dead snake is a good snake. The 10% that feel do not kill but safely remove is not the guys on the floor that finds the snakes.

I realeased the snake behind my house in the wetland area last night.

Got another call this morning about a snake. It was another redlip herald. This one was double the size off the previous one. The garden service guys got it and call management of the section. They called me and now the little guy will go home with me for release in the wetland behind my home :-P . So some of the talks to staff is sinking in :D
