Well, after trying for years to get these things, i got eight, and they were all in excellent condition, they were heavy on females and just when i thought it could not get any better, they have almost all eaten, 3 days after landing, and then,
i saw them breeding today!!!! hectic.
i did not take any photos, i closed the cage and walked away. i have not heard of anyone breeding these guys, so i did not want to stress them out
ja, tanzanian, so i hope some of them might be gravid at the moment, but time will tell. They are all doing great and very lively. Noticed a few things, they flair their neck, half way between a boomslang and a cobra. they tail whip like Hydrodynastes and they are placid. i went through and did physicals on all of them and the worst i got was a tail whip!
Here are some more photos, sun was going down, so they are a bit dark, but these snakes are awesome. Might keep a bigger group than i thought initally just because i am so blown away by them.
I have kept quite a number of these and never seen the neck flaring or the tail whipping. That is very interesting. I have not seen this recorded anywhere else either.
