Psammophis leopardinus???

Postby reptile » Thu Aug 07, 2014 2:49 pm

Hi Everyone,
Here are some pics of a snake that a friend found here in Malawi. It looks like a Psammophis leopardinus which would be a knew species here. Forgive me if I have the name wrong, but each time I research it on the internet they show me the Leopard Whip Snake. Though I read something about a new/sub species that was found in 2002, which sounded more like the one he found. If different pictures are needed, please say so.

I am horrible at identifying Psammophis at species level, and don't know much about the genus, but it does look the part.

Do you have the solution already? I would be very interested in the answer too. I posted these pictures in the Facebook group Psammophiidae, hoping someone would be able to solve the problem. You said you had more pictures. I would like to see them.
