Hi all, we are currently doing some research on snake fang evolution at Stellenbosch University, making use of high-resolution micro- and nanoCT scanning. We have already collected quite a number of scans, but are still looking for a few missing species. Since we have to extract the fang out of the skull prior to scanning, we cannot make use of museum material and are looking for other means. If any of you have a deceased snake (dead, frozen, preserved) of the following species available that he/she would be willing to donate for research, we would highly appreciate it. Alternatively, if you know of anyone who might be able to help out, please feel free to share this message.
The species were are looking for:
Amblyodipsas sp.
Aparallactus capensis
Atractaspis bibronii
Dendroaspis polylepis
Elapsoidea sundevallii
Thelotornis capensis
Dipsadoboa aulica
Macrelaps microlepidotus
Telescopus semiannulatus
Xenocalamus sp.
Thanks!
