Curious... Who else has a photo like THIS

Postby Bernice » Thu Dec 13, 2007 12:41 pm

This is a real peach! it is my FIRST EVER snake bite, and I have a photo that documents the actual event!
Im not sure how rare this is, but was wondering if anybody else has a pic of themselves getting tagged... willing to share?

Dont fly! 4X4! The noble eagle may soar! but a weasel wont get sucked into a jet intake valve...

I guess one doesn't often see pics of 'actual' bites.

Here's mine: also a Psammophis

DONT DO THIS!!!!

Dont ever let a venomous snake chew on you for a photograph. It is just way too risky. Look at snakes like hognose snakes (Heterodon) and garter snakes (Thamnophis) that have caused serious effects.

If this happened spontaneously then that is fine. They both look like "photos of opportunity" so dont take this personally.

PS I have a video of a puff adder biting me many many years ago. (Very embarrassing). They broadcast it on TV a few times too, both here and overseas. The next time someone will see it is at my wake. All invited, drinks for free and a surcharge for the strippers.

I've only been bitten by corn snakes so far, but they are harmless. On another forum there was some discussion about many colubrids (if not most/all) being aglyphic. Even the corn snake's venom is said to be very neurotoxic, but since there is no good way of injecting it anywhere, they don't seem to present a threat.

I'm sure the members with Yellow anacondas have loads of these pictures. Wonder if they would care to share them :?:

BV, this was a spontaneous bite during a photo session. As it bit me, I immediately started to remove it and my buddy asked me to wait so he could get a pic. Thats why it chewed.

Pythonadipsas I guessed something like that because it was not in focus and you did not wait for a better shot.

Top dog. You cannot get half pregnant or half dead. So no trial run of the wake! You will have to kill me.
