Breeding bearded dragons

Postby red lip » Sun Mar 10, 2013 10:31 pm

Hi all. I have been trying to breed my two beautiful beardies but have had no luck so far my male is just over 2 years and my female is 22 months, they are placed in a 90cm x 30cm x 45cm tank, they are healthy and have shown signs of mating my male head bobs,my female arm waves and my male does bite her on her fleshy part of her neck but he does not try to mate. If you have any advice on how to get them to mate please post your suggestions thanks.

Hi

Beardies are a bit market saturated at the moment and if you do get them to breed you will be finding good homes for 20-30 and more babies because the female has multiple clutches off one mating BUT, I had this problem with my male a few years back, he finally figured out what he needed to do at four years old only so maybe your boytjie's a bit young yet?

My female laid her clutch of 17 eggs about 2 weeks ago, it is her first batch so it was infertile, but thanks for the reply!
