Tortoises

Does anyone know which species of South African tortoises is allowed to be imported and kept in the Western Cape Province and which is not allowed?

I red on Cape Natures website that one might require "special" permission for certain species. Can someone perhaps elaborate on this topic.

Regards.

As far as I have it the Western Cape do not allow the import of any species into their province. They do however regularly issue permits for Angulate and Leopard tortoises found in the Province. Contact your local Cape Nature office for availability.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
