Recently a friend and I cruised up this young FL. pine snake (Pituophis melanoleucus mugitus) here in central Florida..

Are these are rare as the "Ruthveni" or not as much. Lovely photo.

Nowhere as rare as the Louisiana pines but still rare to see (especially when you want to photo one!). They can be somewhat common but they take a tremendous hit each year from vehicles...
