Guess the rat!

Guess the rat!

Postby CarlaSmit87 » Tue Nov 06, 2012 8:32 am

Okay so I bought this guy last week, owner said it's a yellow rat snake...
Lol so I guess he is a cross between two different rat snakes. Anyone want to have a go at guessing what it may have been?

Yeah I would also go for Grey rat crossed with a yellow rat. I have an identical male which was dumped at a vet facility. Mine might even be a little bigger. They could even be related.

Hmmm. I have seen some yellow rat snakes that have plenty orange on them. Looks to me like a yellow ratsnake that has retained a lot of it's juvenile markings.

Yip, Yellow x Grey Rat Snake.
These have got up to around 1.5m to 1.8m in size as far as I am aware.
