ID Please

Postby Kuro » Sat Feb 16, 2013 10:01 pm

Hi Guys
Can anybody ID her for me, my mother bought her a few years a go and the guy she bought it from said it was a "bubblegum", and then someone else said it was a "snow". Just want to finally know what morph she is.

Thanks in advance

Morning Kuro.

I've done a bit of research on bubblegum corns.

They are snow corns that have been selectively bred for their nice appearance, and colours, ect. So its still a snow corn, but one that has been selectively bred for certain features.

Here is a link to some info on them.

Hi Kuro, as Justin said it is a snow corn. They usually have more pink and green in them.
I have a very pretty little snow. My wife named her pink, but as she has gotten older, the pink colouring has a bit.

I don't think that is a Bubblegum Snow Corn, but rather a Bubblegum Ratsnake.

The name is similar, but the snakes are quite different.

The Bubblegum Ratsnake is actually a hybrid between a Black Ratsnake and a Corn or Everglades Ratsnake.

A "normal" Bubblegum Ratsnake is the amel version of the above hybrid, so I guys yours would be called a Snow Bubblegum Ratsnake.

Or that's my opinion.

If it is infact a bubblegum ratsnake I am glad the place that sold it as a corn has closed.

I have bred bubblegum ratsnakes and they dont look the same to me. I would rather go with bubblegum snow corn. Best is to pop it in with a normal corn and see what the babies look like. The chequered belly markings are the dead give away on them. Can you make out any belly markings on this specimen?

Definately a nice snow corn. The yellow colouring down the sides is very common for the anery based morphs (Snows are amel anery's)
