Postby NEWB » Mon Sep 17, 2007 1:57 pm

cool, thanks for the advise.

I have never thought about it like that, feeding it in its enclosure I mean.Makes sense!

@ Oliver Twisted - What was the problem, your little one just full of it again?

@ Irock, exactly what Nasicornis said. But I'll post some pics.

OK so I have faced the wrath and here are some pics. Sorry for the quality, I took the pics with my cell phone.

Just one more question, do you think I can give her(red motley) two pinkies at once?

I also posted some pics of my silver motley feeding.

Hope you like!!

Thanks for the pics, they are so small though, it's nearly impossible to tell for sure what she is...

Though she doesn't LOOK amel so I stand with my first guess that she is a normal motley. I love them! They are so pretty!

She looks big enough to take two pinks at once. How often are you feeding?

Nice anery motley too!!!

Thanks BB!!!

I feed her once a week, but you can barely see that she ate after one pink.

I'm just scared she might regurgitate the pinks. I lost my bubblegum baby that way, he regurgitated the pinks and injured himself internally. He dehydrated and died.

She shouldn't regurge if her temps are right and she isn't handled for at least 2days after feeding (I leave mine for 3days after feeding). I have some of about the same age and they are on small fuzzies already and doing well. Your girl looks big enough to handle two pinks.

If you are worried about her the first time, try feeding her two really small ones to begin with. Then gradually increase the prey size.

Remember prey items must never exceed 1.5times the diameter of the snake at it's widest part. If the "lump" disappears in 24hrs or less, It's definitely time to bump her up to the next prey size.

Have you ever weighed her? That would help indicate which prey size she should be on...they should be fed double pinks when they weigh 16-23g.

PS: I am really sorry to hear about your bubblegum...I lost two that way as well.

Thanks for the advice, I'll take her to our vet to get weighed.

So I suppose you can feed them fuzzies when they are between 24-30g?

It really sucks when you realise you cannot do anything for them anymore and the death of a part of your family is inevitable...

:) You're welcome, if you have a kombuis scale at home it will work just as well. :) I have one that is accurate to the gram.

i feed mine according to the "Munson Plan". I will see if I can find the link for you. Many people swear by this! I also cut my fuzzies to aid digestion. :)

Yeah, it's really horrible seeing them wasting away and knowing there's nothing more you can do for them.
