Possible Dwarf Hyper Erytheristic babies

Hi ALL. Wanted to wait till after 1st shed. But some members want pics.Babies was born on the 25/10/2011. First 4 me and female snake she is +- 8 years old. The male is +- 11-12years old. Female is 1.6m long and the male is 1.5m long. Female was bred to her father to proof him out. So no babies will be available as yet. Back to the babies they are gorgeous an average size of 35-43cm long and 52-55g one small baby 25cm and 20g.There were 2 slugs, 1 still born and 19 babies. All the babies are a rich dark brown with beautiful tail markings some already show the orange red belly like the father or at least looks like it. There were a couple lighter ones as well ,will be pushing it to call them hypos but will see after shedding. Majority have circle backs and some ladder tails.

I know quiet a bit on genetics but never ever heard of a hyper erythistic.

I second that and also do not push them as Hypo cos those aren't hypo at all. Doesn't even look hypo.

Not Hypo, "Hyper". This means that hyper erythistic is a snake that has far more red pigment than normal.

Hi Imperial exotix like Bushviper say its got more red than normal. That is why i say possible if you guys can see my male in real life not a pic then you would understand.
Whitelipp 2 babys where much lighter than the rest thats why i siad maybe hypos but will wait till after shedding agree with you babies posted not hypos.

Congrats on the babies. I must admit, those don't look very red to me. I have a female from the same blood line I'm sure, and she's browned up quite a bit, but still stunning snakes.

Hi some holdbacks look at how the coulor has changed. Still a bit young to determan if they are indeed a bit smaller than normal

These look slightly hypo or pastel. As babies I could not see hypo at all so that is possibly not right. Pastel is a difficult thing to pin down. Some of the Central American boas (dwarfs) do have this lighter colouration naturally.

They definitely look more like hypos now than they did a year ago. Not certain but they more red than usual. Will be interesting to see the outcome of your breeding project

This male is the closest to his father in looks the red/orange belly colour. Also my favourate one.I spoke to the previous owner of my male and he siad, as a baby snake my male had no colour
(red/orange) at all. So i am verry excited to see how these babys transform. Cant get proper pics using small hand held camera they are much more colourfull than in pics

Hi just a update on my definite dwarf boa babies. They are 2 years and 4 months old. There colour changed a bit. They eat once a week without fail. The male is still the best looking of the two he weighs
693g and the female 1636g.
