Need a little advise on breeding Boas for the first time.

Need a little advise on breeding Boas for the first time.

Hay everyone.

This season it will be the first time I am going to try to breed two of my Boas.

The breeding will go: Salmon male x Normal female.

A basic breeding project, here's a little background.

Male Salmon: Around 1.2 meters +-, two years old now.
Normal female: Around 1.8 meters +-, 4-5 years old now.

Due to it being winter now, the cooling and light period will be done automatically from the weather, but obviously if it is 6•c outside it won't be 6•c inside their cage. Normal cooling temps, 23-26•c. Sometimes going to as low as 18•c, natural light periods will be provided for winter cycles.

Now down to business.

It has been about two months now that they have been in the same enclosure, about 2-3 days a week the male Salmon will tickle the female with his spurs, and try and get it right but just can't... He has locked once with her. But never again. Everytime he tries, the female resists and whips her tail away constantly.

What can I do to help out here?

Is there something I did wrong? Or is just her that doesn't want to lose her virginity for real this time.

Any advise will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

There is still lots of time. Take him out for a few weeks and then put him back again.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.
