Breeding season 2013

Breeding season 2013

Postby Bushbaby » Sun Nov 24, 2013 7:09 am

On 29th October I was blessed with our first litter of baby boas. These were born to a het albino and albino pairing. These are from a coral line. I did not realize it, until I saw my keepers from last year and they are starting to get the "coral effect". They have settled well and have started eating.

Here's some of them after their shed and first feeding.

And then ofcourse, there has to be at least one that I will be keeping back. This is he! :D

I am so glad only one was different enough to keep. They are stunning snakes from a very nice bloodline.

I managed to produce a first in SA this year (as far as I know at least). I produced T+ Caramel Albino Nicaraguan Dwarf Boas, as well as T+ Caramel Albino Motley Nicaraguan Dwarf Boas. Both parents are only 1.2 meters long. I have some sub adults who's colours are coming along nicely. It's amazing to see the change in the motleys as their tails are an orange/ brownish purple colour. Very strange!! Here's some photos of some of them.

These are the T+ Caramel Albinos

And these are the motleys. The photos do not do them justice!

I'm still in 2 minds about selling this one. He is really sweet.

Thanks for looking.

Well done BB!

I must say, the fact that the adult is so small makes the VERY appealing.

Those motles are stunners, especially the second one with the bull's eye effect.
