new to Burms

Hi All

I am looking at buying a pair of hatchling Albino Burmese. I've been keeping reptiles for over 12 years but the largest snakes I've kept are redtail boas, I would like to some opinions from experienced Burmese keepers as to the temperament of the snakes and how aggresive they are when theyv'e reached adulthood.

I am aware of the housing and feeding requirements and as to how big they get.

Great pets. They are very forgiving animals and are, with alot of gentle handling, as tame as puppies. However some can develope a very strong feeding response so alot of care must be taken when removing it from its cage. To me a burmese and a boa are the best captive super snakes. However dont take my word for it. Do as much reading as you can. Check out the www.bobclark.com. there are some articles there that helped me out.

they fanatastic to have as hatchlings they can be a bit nippy but soon grow out of it with gentle handling as adults they are just as great very pleasant to have.What i love about them is the feeding response which is brilliant.good luck with the burms you are getting

Burmese pythons can be such gentle "giants", but the exact opposite if you do not handle them. Look for the January / February 2009 edition Ultimate Exotics. There should be an article in there regarding Burmese Pythons, written from a keepers perspective and experience. Possibly that should assist as well.
