Unfortunately all these babies are severely deformed. Their entire bodies are contorted and they are battling to even move. I don't think any of them will make it. Very depressing.

Sorry to hear that man. Were the incubation temperatures stable?

The incubation temps where pretty stable between 31-32c. I am just concerned that the few blistering days we had recently might have pushed the temps up during the day but I find that hard to believe as the deformities are really severe. Is it possible that this is genetically related in which case this pair should not be mated again.

I think it difficult to tell whether this is a genetic defect or not.

However, as we discussed last night, one way of proving this out is to mate them again, if the same thing occurs again, I would say that it is genetic and not to mate the pair again ever.
The problem is that if genetic, it may not be prevalent in both male and female, but only in one of them. Further proving out would have to be done to establish this.

Who knows, I may be way off course on this one, but I express my thoughts on the matter.

Sorry to hear that Rishaad, I know how you feeling, a few of my corns also have kinks. The only thing I can think of is the temps, there was one day when my temps went up to 31 for a few hours early in incubation due to temps outside being blistering, after wich I moved them to a more stable room.

How did you measure the temperature? How accurate was the thermometer?

I used a thermometer in conjunction with a Pro exotics laser temp gun and took temps quite often.
