SAD DAY!!!!!

SAD DAY!!!!!

Postby Burmbuddy » Thu Feb 28, 2008 6:53 pm

Hi Guys!
Well you guys prob remember the pics I posted of the eggs I got from my burms this year (Male albino lab X female albino het for lab).
Well I cut the eggs yesterday and to my horror had to deal with 12 still born BEUTIFULL albino lab burm babies…and No live ones…
I was expecting 75% albino labbys and 25 % heet for labs, but to get a clutch like this and all are dead…it just broke my heart…
Does anybody have any ideas what could have gone wrong? I cut at 90 days, temp was @ 30-31 Deg C and humidity 89-91% the whole time???
Will post some pics of the babies later…
A very SAD goodbye…
DAN

You let them go way to long before cutting them. They probably could not cut their way out of the eggs.

These things happen but it is so bad when they do. Lets hope next year is a better year.

Incubation time is 58 and 69 days but the average is about 60 days. Next year cut a small slit for them to emerge if they cannot cut by themselves.

Cut a small V on 60 days. You might be breeding a weak gene, they might have tried to cut through but had no egg tooth. I play it safe and cut on 60 days.

Did not even 1 cut? Seems weird that not even 1 cut, normally I cut all my eggs when the first 1 cuts its own egg.
