What happens is the female can lay eggs in captivity that often does happen but they probably mated in the wild before they were captives, so even if you get a yearling it does not mean that they were captively bred. As I said its a difficult subject to comment on.
Does sungazers lay eggs? My Armadillo lizzards gave live birth in captivity one and a half years after i got them. They do look happy in their setup and the whole colony stick together and it seems like they "hunt" together as well
