Agama atra care

Postby Bloukopkoggelmander » Mon Sep 14, 2015 10:50 pm

So I'm new to the lizard world. although I have been catching and releasing rock agama since I was a kiddo. I have recently become interested in keeping one in a medium sized tank (50x40x40). Has anyone kept one as a pet and do you have any tips? Do they become tame? How much do they eat and drink? And is 25-30 degrees Celsius a good temp?

I would not advise it, they don't settle well and being wild caught they are prone to stress-related conditions. It is also illegal. If you like agamas look at getting a bearded dragon.

Yeah keeping them inside is not going to end well for you. They need direct sunlight and will slowly deteriorate.

Buy a bearded dragon and keep that as a pet and just leave the Agamas free in the wild.
It is easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

Those who are afraid to ask are ashamed of learning.
