Need advice

Need some advice from breeders. I am a first time breeder and have 2 normal females that are breeder size as well as a Lemon Pastel male.
I had a few locks during the season and the male got along with both females. Tonight I placed the male in a female's cage, as he has been resting for awhile. But after a few minutes a started hearing a "thumping" sound. when I went to the cage with both snakes in, I saw the male trashing around, looking very stressed and not being himself. I removed him from the female's cage, as I was afraid that one of them might get hurt.

Is this behaviour associated with breeding ? if not, what can I do?
