If your snake is overly aggressive it's because it feels threatened, the snake thinks you are out to harm it. The way to get around this problem is first to provide it with secure hiding places. Snakes feel most secure when they have a tight space to hide away in, ideally the animal should just be able to fit inside the hide you provide.
Second, If I were you, when it comes to handling, do so on the snakes terms, if you see your snake is out and about try and handle it, removing it from it's secure hiding place however could make the snake more defensive and more likely to strike and bite.
Lastly, you need to gain the animals trust, reptiles are more intelligent than people think, maybe it had a bad experience with it's previous owner so it thinks humans are dangerous. Make the snake feel secure and more than likely it'll start feeding again, but also some animals just will never be hand pets, every snake has it's own personality, like people.
