Brown House Snake

Brown House Snake

Postby WorGod » Tue Dec 24, 2013 10:22 am

Hey all, I'm looking for some help if anyone is able to assist me. I found a brown house snake last night tucked away in my cubboard, guess it was looking for a warm place, from what i can tell it must have been someone's pet as it is very tame, i do not know enough about snake so my question is am i able to release it after it has been kept as a pet?

If not is there stone where that i can take it where it will be cared for, i would love to keep it myself but my wife is petrified of snakes and i do not have the permits required and a tank.

Your help will be appreciated.

It might not be someone's pet. Many brown house snakes appear tame even though they are actually wild.

Very highly unlikely that it's a pet, just a snake that's wandered into your house. They're generally very docile snakes, although you do get some nervous / skittish specimens. You can take it to the nearest bit of open veld and release it there.
